After two races, some drivers doing well…others?

Only one Sprint Cup driver has scored two top-5’s in the first races of the 2008 season, #18-Kyle Busch; and only four drivers have scored two top tens: #18-Busch, #12-Ryan Newman, #20-Tony Stewart and #9-Kasey Kahne. #5-Casey Mears is the only driver who has DNF’d [did not finish] in the first two races. Five teams/drivers who were not in the top-35 of owners points at the end of 2007, are currently in the top-35 after two races: #2-Kurt Busch [traded #2 owners points with Penske’s third team, #77-Hornish], #83-Brian Vickers, #00-David Reutimann, #44-Dale Jarrett and #55-Michael Waltrip. That means five teams who ended the 2007 in the top-35 and having a guaranteed spot: #28-Travis Kvapil, #22-Dave Blaney, #01-Regan Smith, #45-Kyle Petty and #5-Casey Mears [41 points out of 35th]. With three more races things can change.(3-1-2008)
