He led the race once for one lap, the first time he has led in 10-career Nationwide Series starts and claimed WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors.
Franchitti holds a 17-point lead (69-52) over Bryan Clauson in the Raybestos Rookie standings entering the Bashas Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix.
Juan Pablo Montoya was the Raybestos Rookie of the Race in the 2007 spring race at Phoenix, posting a 21st-place finish. Montoya led the race once for once for three laps and was the only first-year driver to lead the event.
Carl Edwards owns the best finish in three April races at Phoenix, an eighth-place effort in 2005. The 2005 event was the first-ever springtime Nationwide Series race held in Phoenix.
