Driver Rick Crawford gave up on purchasing Montgomery Motor Speedway when residents around the track complained. Crawford said he is still interested in owning a track, possibly Music City Motorplex if it became available. “I’d entertain that,” said Crawford, who finished 23rd. “That brings back a lot of memories.” The Motorplex’s lease ends in 2008. The track received an extension to 2009, but the Metro legal department has not signed off on the extension. Residents around the Motorplex have complained about the 104-year-old track, which celebrated its 50th year of paved racing this season.(Tennessean)(8-11-2008)
