Jeff Burton couldn’t leave the gathering without being asked what his older brother [Ward Burton] was up to these days. “I don’t know what he’s doing. He says he’s working but I doubt it,” Burton said with a laugh. “Ward’s conservation program always has been the thing that woke him up in the morning. It’s always been the thing that drove him, and that continues today. Obviously, he has quite a bit more time to spend on that now and he has done a lot of great things. And his oldest son, Jeb (now 16) is racing Late Models “ he’s aging quickly, Ward is “ and that’s required quite a bit of his time as well.”(Peoria Journal Star)(12-12-2008)
