The ageless wonder, #5-Mark Martin, is methodically becoming the story of the 2009 NSCS season. Three wins in the first 15 races, and back in the Top 12, although only 61 points ahead of #00-David Reutimann in 13th. RCR’s recent woes continued at MIS and #31-Jeff Burton’s 26th place finish dropped him to just 3 points inside the Top 12. Reutimann’s 19th at MIS dropped him just out of the Top 12. #42-Juan Pablo Montoya’s strong run all day at MIS netted him a sixth place finish and gained him 19 precious points toward 12th place. Now just 43 points out of the Top 12, a win win or podium finish at Infineon would push Montoya closer to the Chase field, if not at least temporarily in it.
