Although RCR has a long history in the NCWTS, this weekend’s Dover 200 marks the organization’s first NCWTS appearance at Dover International Speedway. Austin Dillon will pilot the #3 Bass Pro Shops Chevy in this weekend’s Dover 200. This weekend marks Dillon’s first NCWTS appearance at Dover but he has one previous Dover start in the NASCAR K&N Pro East Series, where he finished ninth after starting 17th in September 2008. Richard Childress Racing’s #3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet team will honor a legend during this weekend’s Dover 200 NCWTS race [special announcement will be made on Wednesday, May 12th]. Five races into the 2010 NCWTS season, Dillon is tied for eighth with Ricky Carmichael in the series’ point standings, just 155 markers outside of the point lead. UPDATE: Richard Childress Racing will further honor the legendary Dale Earnhardt’s induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame with special paint schemes in races over the next two weekends. The #3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Austin Dillon, will pay tribute to the seven-time Cup Series champion in the May 14 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Dover 200 at Dover International Speedway.
