Carl Edwards won the Nationwide Series O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, his 28th series win in his 209th start. It was his first series Texas win in his 12th start, and he became the 10th driver to win a series race at Texas. It was his fourth NASCAR Texas win (three in Sprint Cup), and his third series win of 2010 after winning at Road America and Gateway. He led three times for 59 laps, including the final 15 after leading only 11 laps in his previous 11 series starts at Texas combined.
It was the 111th series win for Roush Fenway Racing, and its fifth series Texas win, tied with Joe Gibbs Racing for the most of all teams. It was RFR’s third series win of 2010 and its 13th NASCAR win at Texas. It was Ford’s sixth series Texas win and fourth victory of 2010.
Kyle Busch (finished second) led the most laps for the sixth consecutive race at Texas; he had won the last five series Texas races.
Brad Keselowski (third) clinched the 2010 series Championship and the first championship for Penske Racing. Keselowski will set a series record for the most top-5 finishes in a season if he can finish in the top five in the last two races of the season.
Joey Logano (fourth) earned 22nd top-10 finish in his 23rd start of the season.
Reed Sorenson (seventh) rebounded from a speeding penalty on pit road.
Paul Menard (ninth) rebounded from an uncontrolled-tire penalty during a pit stop during the race’s first caution.
Steve Wallace (10th) got his first top-10 finish in the last 11 races.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (11th) was the best finishing rookie of the year contender for the 12th time in 2010.
