Keith Barnwell, spotter for #56-Martin Truex Jr., will step away from the spotters stand for a while to help take care of family matters. The leave of absence starts this week at Daytona. Barnwell’s Mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and just yesterday was moved into Hospice care. Barnwell said: “I just feel like I need to stay closer to home until Mom improves and beats this thing. Family comes first and I appreciate Ty Norris and the MWR team allowing me to take the time that I need to help get to where we need to be. When Mom improves enough, maybe I can jump back in and help out at least on race days”. Norris will sub as Truex’s spotter.(6-29-2011)
