Special ‘˜white ‘ scheme for Johnson at Kentucky:

Continuing this season’s series of paint schemes honoring classic Chevrolets, Team Lowe’s Racing and Jimmie Johnson will be sporting a white paint scheme with blue racing stripes this weekend. The #48 Lowe’s ‘Ermine White’ Chevrolet will run this Saturday in Kentucky for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400. Records indicate that ‘Ermine White’ was used by General Motors on its Chevrolet vehicles from 1960 to 1968. It was available on every model of passenger car Chevrolets (Full-Size, Chevelle, Chevy II, Camaro, Corvette, and Corvair) built during those model years. In addition to Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile and Pontiac also used this same color (PPG 8259) for various models during certain years in this era, only under different marketing names.(Lowe’s Racing), see an image of the car on the #48 Team Schemes page.(6-26-2012)
