Carl Edwards wins Richmond:

#99-Carl Edwards won the Federated Auto Parts 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway for his 2nd win of 2013 and 21st career win . There was some controversy that Edwards jumped the last restart but NASCAR didnt make a call on it due the leader #27 and #99 making contact. #78-Busch finished 2nd followed by #39-Newman, #1-McMurray, #27-Menard, #20-Kenseth, #56-Truex Jr., #24-Gordon, #14-Martin and #17-Stenhouse Jr. (best career finish). Points leader #48-Johnson had to start from the rear after Regan Smith qualified the car 10th as Johnson missed qualifying due to the birth of his 2nd daughter on Friday. Johnson had trouble most of the evening, having a battery cable burn and a tire go down, hitting the wall, finishing 40th and losing the points lead to race winner Edwards by 1 point. There were 17 lead changes among 9 drivers and 5 cautions for 29 yellow flag laps. The average speed was 105.028mph. NASCAR no longer announces the track attendance.
