#13-Germain Racing is changing manufacturers once again. Ending a two-year relationship with Ford, team owner Bob Germain informed Doug Yates, CEO of Roush Yates Engines, on Tuesday that his company will be moving to General Motors for 2014. ‘We value Germain Racing as a customer, and we hate to see them leave’ Yates said. ‘We wish them well.” Germain is expected to form an engine and technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing similar to the relationship #78-Furniture Row Racing. Germain Cup driver Casey Mears drove for RCR in 2009. Attempts to reach Germain Racing owner Bob Germain for comment have been unsuccessful.( FoxSports )(10-1-2013) UPDATE: Richard Childress Racing (#27, #29, #31) and Germain Racing (#13) have agreed to form a technical alliance in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition, beginning with the 2014 season. The partnership includes technology sharing, engineering, research and development provided to Germain Racing as they switch their No. 13 GEICO Cup Series cars to Chevrolet next season. The partnership also includes Germain Racing utilizing the highly reliable and powerful engines of ECR Engines. This will also be a homecoming of sorts for the teams driver, Casey Mears, as he drove for RCR in 2009. ‘We are very pleased to have a team like Germain Racing become our partner’ said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. ‘Bob (Germain) and his team have worked very hard to become one of the better single-car teams over the past few years and we are looking to build on what theyve already achieved.
