#48-Jimme Johnson won the AAA Texas 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway for his 6th win of 2013, his 3rd at Texas and 66th career win . Johnson led the most laps with 255. Johnson took the lead of the Chase, leading #20-Matt Kenseth by 7 points. #88-Earnhardt Jr finished 2nd followed by #22-Logano, #20-Ksenth, #5-Kahne, #2-Keselowski, #11-Hamlin, #29-Harvick, #39-Newman and #15-Bowyer. Pole winner, #99-Edwards lost an engine midway and finished 37th. #24-Gordon, who came into Texas down 27 points, hit the wall early in the race and finished 38th after returning to the track to pick up a few spots and points. Gordon drops to 6th in points, down 69 points and out of the championship hunt. #30-Parker Kligerman, making is Sprint Cup Series debut, finished 18th. There were 28 lead changes among 10 drivers and only 5 cautions for 26 yellow flag laps. The average speed was 151.754mph. NASCAR no longer announces the track attendance.
