With the Aaron’s Dream Weekend set for May 2-4 at Talladega Superspeedway, three drivers – led by #21-Trevor Bayne of the famed the Wood Brothers Racing Team – took to the high banks of NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track Wednesday for a test session in hopes of gathering information to help their efforts upon their return. Bayne was joined by Tommy Baldwin Racing drivers #36-Reed Sorenson and #7-Michael Annett. Veteran crew chief Todd Parrott, who will head Sorenson’s effort, was also on hand after taking over the reins earlier this year. Bayne, behind the wheel of the iconic #21 Ford, paced the trio with an unofficial speed of 191.138 mph. NASCAR returns to Talladega Superspeedway in 2014 with the Aaron’s Dream Weekend, which is set for May 2-4. The NASCAR Nationwide Series and ARCA Racing Series will take to the track on Saturday, May 3 while NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series machines take the green flag on Sunday, May 4.(TSS)(2-6-2014)
UPDATE: Trevor Bayne, driver of the #21 Wood Brothers Ford completed a two-day test on Thursday at Talladega Superspeedway in preparation for the May 2-4 Aaron’s Dream Weekend. ‘We have been able to learn a lot over the last two days and feel good with our restrictor plate program,’ said Bayne, the 2011 Daytona 500 Champion. ‘It’s always good coming to Talladega.’ The famed Wood Brothers team has five triumphs at Talladega with the likes of David Pearson, Donnie Allison and Neil Bonnett. Bayne is hoping to give the legendary team its sixth win in the Aaron’s 499 on Sunday, May 4.(TSS)(2-7-2014)
