Truex Jr. became the ninth different race winner as many years, and the seventh consecutive driver to claim his first Sprint Cup Series road-course victory. The win also marked the second consecutive Sonoma victory for Michael Waltrip Racing’¦. #24-Jeff Gordon is the undisputed king of Sonoma, with five victories (1998-2000, ’04, ’06) and five pole positions (1998-99, ’01, ’04, ’05). Gordon also boasts 13 top-five finishes and 17 top-10 finishes – the most of any driver’¦. Two-time winners in Sonoma include Rusty Wallace (1990, ’96), Ernie Irvan (1992, ’94), Ricky Rudd (1989, 2002) and #14-Tony Stewart (2001, ’05)’¦. Gordon has completed the most laps of any NASCAR driver in Sonoma, 2,117 of 2,441 laps’¦ Rookie and Elk Grove native #42-Kyle Larson will make his Sonoma Raceway debut.
