Joe Gibbs Racing will not appeal the hefty NASCAR penalties issued last week for not having the firewall sealed in Denny Hamlin’s car during the July 27 Sprint Cup race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The penalties included six-week suspensions for crew chief Darian Grubb and car chief Wesley Sherrill, a $125,000 fine to Grubb and a 75-point penalty for Hamlin as well as a 75-point reduction in owner points. JGR initially had planned to appeal, but JGR spokesman Chris Helein confirmed Thursday that it will not appeal.(Sporting News)(8-7-2014)
