When A.J. Allmendinger won the Cheez-It 355 Sprint Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International on August 10, 2014, it was the first time since March 16, 1986 that a driver had won a Sprint Cup Series race in a car #47. Morgan Shepherd won at Atlanta in a Jack Beebe owned Buick crew chiefed by Jake Elder. The car #47 has 25 Sprint Cup Series wins in its history.
