Nearly a dozen NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers, including seven of the 12 drivers who advanced to the Contender round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup, will conduct a private testing session at Phoenix International Raceway on Tuesday, Oct. 14 and Wednesday, Oct. 15. The testing session will be closed to the public. The test will allow teams to gather data in preparation for the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at PIR on Sunday, Nov. 9. As the final Eliminator round race, after which the Chase field will be cut from eight to the final four drivers for the Championship round, the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 carries added significance this season.
