In May, FedEx asked NASCAR fans to help choose Denny Hamlin’s special #11 FedEx Cares paint scheme for the Toyota/Save Mart 350. The winning design, which garnered the most votes on social media and triggered $55,000 in donations to five charitable organizations on behalf of FedEx through FedEx Cares, will be revealed via 360-degree virtual reality experience during the Sonoma Raceway media luncheon on Thursday, June 23 at McCormick & Keluto’s in historic Ghirardelli Square in downtown San Francisco. Through the FedEx Cares global giving initiative, FedEx is investing $200 million in 200 communities around the world by 2020. How important is it for you to participate in initiatives such as FedEx Cares? Hamlin: ‘Obviously for me, being part of such a great company that does so much for communities around the world is very important to me. I’ve had the chance to volunteer and give back to people and places all over the country, and this weekend in Sonoma will be no different. We helped raise $55,000 for very deserving organizations through our social voting campaign in May, and I’m excited for the #11 FedEx Cares Toyota design to hit the track at Sonoma.’(FedEx Racing)
