ponsorship dollars and racing has been a hot topic this season, so good news is worth reporting! Bobby Earnhardt, who released the news last week that he will be making his return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, is doing just that. The popular driver is announcing new sponsors have joined his team heading into the race weekend at Kansas Speedway.
“I’m so excited to be back behind the wheel at Kansas – and with growing support,” Earnhardt, son of Kerry Earnhardt and elder brother of Cup Series regular Jeffrey Earnhardt said. “I’ll be driving the No. 66 HABCO Toyota for MBM Motorsports. The good news is that more companies are coming on board with HABCO to make Kansas – and other races this season – possible.”
Earnhardt said that HABCO Inc, out of Salina, Kansas, came on board to get the ball rolling. The company specializes in feed and grain movement within elevators. The driver noted the relationship began while he and Tim Buyse of HABCO worked on dirt cars during an event this past summer in Kansas.
“Tim is a great guy, Earnhardt said while speaking about his opportunity to represent HABCO. “While I was running a few dirt track events in Kansas this summer Tim stepped in and helped work on the car… for hours on end! He saw how passionate I was about racing and was willing to jump on board for the Xfinity race at Kansas.”
According to the driver, it’s the same type of hard-working relationship he built with Buyse at HABCO that he’s managed to build with other companies. Earnhardt says work ethic helps bring new sponsors to his team.
“I can’t thank these companies enough – they know we’re working hard – just like they do,” Earnhardt said of his newest sponsors. “Copeland Insurance Agency over in Manhattan and other locations across Northeast Kansas. They work hard for multiple insurance carriers of home, life, Auto, and big trucks. There’s also WT Contractors in Ulysses and Wichita – these guys are the expert contractors you want when it comes to dirt and concrete work. Then there’s Synergy Inspections, Longfellow Foundations, over in Hutchinson, Kansas and of course Circle S Ranch. They know I’ll work hard for them at Kansas – and hopefully over the course of the rest of the season.”
Honor Flight and Breast Cancer Awareness
Earnhardt stated that the Kansas Chapter of Honor Flight will be riding along with the sponsors listed above as well as promoting breast cancer awareness. The Kansas Honor Flight organization will have dedicated space on Earnhardt’s cars, or trucks, in every series and race he is entered in. The goal of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is to help veterans visit the memorial dedicated to them in Washington, D.C.
“It’s a true honor to be affiliated with the great work Honor Flight does. This goes beyond racing – it’s just a small way we can help spread the word about the work that they do in helping veterans visit a place that’s dedicated to their honor, valor and the sacrifices they and their generation made.”
In addition, the No. 66 car will be sporting a special paint scheme highlighted with pink to help raise awareness of breast cancer. It’s more than a theme, it’s a mission for Earnhardt as fighting the disease has hit home.
“My Grandma is fighting cancer right now, so having pink on the car is personal to me and to my brother Jeffrey. He ran her name on his car this year at Charlotte. And I’m thankful for the opportunity to have her name on my car this weekend at Kansas along with the pink theme,” Earnhardt said. “I think building awareness is important – for prevention – maybe a person see’s pink – is reminded to have an exam and gets the treatment they need. Can’t argue with that!”
Shooting for Rookie of the Year in 2019
The Kansas Xfinity race at the 1.5-mile speedway will also serve as a kick-off for a run at the remaining races on the Xfinity Series 2018 schedule. And, Earnhardt says that he’s beating the bushes and working hard to secure even more sponsors for competing fulltime in 2019.
“You know, drivers are good at plugging sponsors these days. So, you know I’ll do great job promoting any additional companies that want to come on board,” Earnhardt said with a classic family grin while trying a TV announcer voice – ‘Simply call the number on your screen and order…’ just kidding. But, if somebody wants to sponsor us on any level – and get some fantastic returns – just email me, jump on the website, catch me on Facebook or Instagram! Heck, honk and wave me down if you see me drive by. I’d love to work with your company and brand. Look for me on Facebook at EarnhardtShearerRacing.”
