Auto Club TV Ratings UPDATE: .@FoxTV earned 4.18 million viewers for Sunday’s #AutoClub400 @ACSupdates, up 4% from 4.03 million for last year’s race.(Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern)(3-19-2019)
UPDATE: Last Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Auto Club 400 earned a 2.5 rating and 4.18 million viewers on FOX, up a tick in ratings and 4% in viewership from last year (2.4, 4.03M), but down 22% and 19% respectively from 2017 (3.2, 5.19M). Kyle Busch’s win was the third straight Cup Series race to increase over last year, marking the first time since May 2016 that three consecutive races have increased. Last season, it took until Watkins Glen in August before NASCAR scored its third increase of the season. Only four races all of last season posted an increase. For the weekend, NASCAR ranked third among sports programs behind the NCAA Tournament Selection Show (3.7, 6.2M) and the competing final round of The Players Championship on NBC (2.75, 4.19M).(Sports Media Watch)(3-21-2019)

Cassill gets Martinsville sponsor: StarCom Racing has partnered with CGS Imaging, a premier high-volume graphics manufacturer and digital printing company, for this weekend’s first short track race of the 2019 season at the half-mile flat cornered Martinsville Speedway in Virginia at the STP 500. Allmendinger joins Kaulig Racing: Kaulig Racing is proud to announce the addition of AJ Allmendinger to their 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) driver line-up. Allmendinger, who has spent the past 13 years driving in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS), will slide behind the wheel of the No. 10 Chevrolet for multiple races. Additionally, Allmendinger recently signed a multi-year contract with NBC Sports Group as a motorsports analyst for both IMSA on NBC and NASCAR America.
