  • The team Chris Trickle drove for before his shooting won the opening event over this past weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Nineteen-year-old Las Vegas driver Kurt Busch scored the biggest victory of his career Saturday night, taking a dramatic half-second victory over Steve Portenga of Sparks, Nev. in the Star Nursery 100 NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series stock car race at the 3/8-mile paved oval of Las Vegas Motor Speedway.   • #98 driver, Greg Sacks, injured in the Texas 500 was released from Parkland Memorial Hospital on Thursday afternoon but has decided to remain in Texas for further consultations with medical specialists.
