Are NASCAR Caution Lengths Increasing?

In another great analysis by Diandra Leslie-Pelecky of Building Speed, she looks at the number of cautions from 1980-2020 and the average number of laps it took to return to racing.

The analysis of more than 9000 cautions shows how accidents have changed over that time period and studies if the length of cautions are longer later in the races.
