Robert “Drew” Nelms, 66, of Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
Drew was born in Kingsport on September 29, 1957, to the late Ralph and Helen McClure Nelms.
He was a diehard Tennessee Vols fan and attended every car show around. Drew retired from a lifelong career in NASCAR but never actually quit.
In addition to his parents, Drew was preceded in death by his sister, Minnie Bralley; and brothers, John, Ron, and James Nelms.
Surviving are his sisters, Nancy Nelms, Evelyn Redwine, Patsy Clark (Bo), and Mae Cornett (Danny); brothers, Wayne Nelms (Audrey) and Ralph “Boo” Nelms; nieces and nephews, Donna Sams (John), Donnie Nelms (Scarlett), Amy Nelms, Sam Clark (Jill), Linda Jarrard (Dane), and Beth Clendenin (Rusty); great-nieces and great-nephews, Anna Belle Nelms, Nathanial Sams, Riley Jarrard, Libby Clendenin, and Daniel Clendenin.
