Former driver Michael Annett has passed away. No details are available at this time.
An Iowa native, Annett climbed through ARCA and into NASCAR’s national series. He made his full-time Xfinity Series debut in 2009 and spent several years bouncing between Xfinity and Cup with teams.
His career took a turn for the better when he joined JR Motorsports in 2017. He got his his first, and only, NASCAR national-series win in the 2019 season opener at Daytona.
Annett retired after the 2021 season, stepping away following a leg injury.
