Tommy Baldwin Jr. revealed on Monday during this week’s episode of Door Bumper Clear that he is no longer working with Rick Ware Racing as the organization’s competition director.
“We decided, Rick and I, that our expectations were not aligned anymore,” Baldwin stated at the beginning of the episode. “We decided, without ruining our friendship, which we have a really good friendships, it was decided to go different ways.”
Baldwin, a longtime industry member, has made starts at crew chief dating back to 1997 with Lance Hooper. He won four races with Ward Burton, and another with Kasey Kahne in 2005.
Baldwin has been active in helping the careers of his sons Jack and Luke, with the latter competing in a handful of Craftsman Truck Series races and a pair of O’Reilly Auto Parts Series events in 2026 alone. Baldwin stated he hopes to “figure out what the next options are” but admitted he’s going to take a break in the meantime.
