Haas Factory Team (HFT) announced today that Dean Thompson will join Haas Factory Team beginning in 2027, driving one of the team’s three full-time entries in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Thompson Pipe Group and MCM Transportation will serve as primary partners on Thompson’s Chevrolet throughout the 2027 season.
Thompson, 24, is currently in his second full-time season in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. The Anaheim, California native earned eight top-10 finishes in 2025, including a career-best fifth-place result at Charlotte Motor Speedway, en route to a 16th-place finish in the championship standings. Through the first 22 races of the 2026 season, Thompson has added two more top-10 finishes.
Prior to joining the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series full time, Thompson competed in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series from 2022-24. During his three full-time seasons, he made 70 starts and recorded 11 top-10 finishes.
“We’re excited to welcome Dean to Haas Factory Team. He has shown strong progression throughout his time in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and we believe he will compete at the highest level,” said Joe Custer, President of Haas Factory Team. “Along with our growing affiliate program, the addition of a third full-time entry continues to strengthen our organization.”
“I’m thrilled to join Haas Factory Team as the next step in my NASCAR journey,” said Thompson. “I am looking forward to competing for wins and a championship with support from MCM Transportation and Thompson Pipe Group.”
HFT will announce the car number, crew chief and further details for Dean at a future date.
Thompson Pipe Group and MCM Transportation will bring their support to Haas Factory Team as primary partners of Thompson’s Chevrolet beginning in 2027. The addition of Thompson expands HFT’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Series program to three full-time entries as the organization continues to grow its presence in the series.
