Valvoline extends partnership, becomes a primary sponsor of Bowman: Valvoline has extended its partnership with 12-time NASCAR Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports through 2022. In 2018, Valvoline will become a primary sponsor of the #88 Chevy of Alex Bowman for two Cup Series races (in 2018: Bristol in August and Las Vegas in Sept.) annually over the next five seasons. Valvoline also will continue as the Official Lubricants Partner of Hendrick Motorsports and as a major associate sponsor of the team’s full stable of Chevrolet race cars and drivers, which include #9-Chase Elliott, #25-William Byron and seven-time Cup champion #48-Jimmie Johnson. As part of the new agreement, Valvoline also will be the presenting sponsor of the Randy Dorton Hendrick Engine Builder Showdown, a yearly competition that brings together Hendrick Motorsports engine builders and Hendrick Automotive Group master technicians. Doug Douchardt named COO at Chip Ganassi Racing: Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) announced today that long-time racing executive Doug Duchardt has been named Chief Operating Officer of the corporation. Duchardt begins the role effective immediately in preparation for the upcoming 2018 seasons while Max Jones is promoted to Managing Director of the team’s NASCAR Operation joining Mike Hull, Managing Director of the team’s INDYCAR and IMSA Operations. Additionally, a newly formed Corporate Office will include Team Owner and CEO Chip Ganassi, President Steve Lauletta, COO Duchardt, CFO Chuck Gottschalk and Vice President of Human Resources Rob Wilder.
