#6-Trevor Bayne was not eligible for Rookie of the Year on 2015 as NASCAR says he ran too many past Sprint Cup Series races.

McDonald’s and Cessna return and will sponsor more races than in 2014, combining to be primary or co-sponsors in 29 races. Per Lionel Racing, Bass Pro Shops will return in 2015, was the sponsor in one race in 2014 (11-30-2014). LiftMaster moves to Hendrick Motorsports #5 team to sponsor Kahne for three races in 2015 (11-20-2014). Matt McCall named the new crew chief for McMurray (11-18-2014). | Avaya, a new sponsor, will run at Kansas in May (5-1-2015). Alliance Truck Parts will be the primary sponsor for six races with a new paint scheme. No word if Detroit Genuine Parts will return as a primary sponsor in 2015 (1-27-2015). Wurth will be primary sponsor for Keselowski in three 2015 races (10-23-2014). Ryan Blaney & Juan Pablo Montoya ran two races each in the #12 Ford in 2014. Blaney will run 12 races in the #21 Wood Brothers Ford in 2015. No word if they will continue to do so, but Penske indicated in mid 2014 that Team Penske would remain a two-car team in 2015 (5-25-2014). | Labbe will be back as the crew chief in 2016 and has been offered a 3-year extension (10-19-2015). Slugger Labbe takes over as the crew chief after Michigan in June. Former crew chief Gil Martin will move into a leadership role within the RCR R&D Department, taking over Labbe’s responsibilities. Martin will work in another capacity at RCR (6-15-2015). No changes expected in 2014 after RCR brought back the #3 in 2014 and Dillon ran for rookie of the year in 2014 (5-25-2014). Bass Pro Shops was the primary sponsor for two races in 2014 (4-8-2014). Realtree and Bad Boy Buggies were the co-primary sponsor at Bristol in March(3-7-2014). Main primary sponsors in 2014 were Dow Chemical (16 races), Cheerios, Bass Pro Shops and American Ethanol, no word if they return, but supposedly the deals were multiyear. | Bayne is not eligible for Rookie of the Year as NASCAR says he ran too many Cup races (1-28-2015). Bob Osborne will return to the pitbox as the crew chief in 2015 for Bayne. Osborne was previously crew chief doe #99 Carl Edwards, but left crew chiefing a few years ago to deal with health issues (1-6-2015). Crew chief Jimmy Fennig will not move to this team after the 2014 season, he will retire as a crew chief and work in RFR’s R&D shop (9-10-2014). Fennig could move over from the #99 team when Edwards leaves to be the crew chief (7-24-2014). Roush Fenway Racing announced in May 2014 that it will again field its iconic #6 Sprint Cup entry in the 2015 NASCAR season, with Trevor Bayne driving the car with full multi-year primary partnership from AdvoCare (5-24-2014). No word if Roush will run Bayne in a few 2014 races to build up some team attempts. The #6 sat out the 2013 & 2014 seasons. The #6 last ran during the 2012 season with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. running four races. The team last ran full-time in 2011 with David Ragan. | ||||||

| Hamlin said in May at Dover, 2015 is NOT a contract year and that “I’ve still got some time left on my deal,” he said. “I’ve been with Gibbs for really a lot time. I’d hope to stay with them.” No word on exactly when Hamlin’s deal is over with JGR (5-29-2015). Sport Clips will be the primary sponsor at Auto Club in March and Darlington in Sept (1-14-2015). Todd Berrier comes over from Furniture Row Racing as the Director of Inspections for JGR (12-5-2014). Dave Rogers replaces crew chief Darian Grubb who moves to JGR’s #19 with Carl Edwards (12-4-2014). Hamlin signed an extension in 2012, which are usually three-year deals, so looks like Hamlin is signed thru 2015 at JGR. Have not heard anything concerning FedEx leaving as the main primary sponsor. | Stewart announced that he will retire at the end of the 2016 season. Clint Bowyer will drive the #14 Chevy, starting in the 2017 season, bringing Five-Hour Energy with him for an announced number of races. Bowyer will drive for HScott Motorsports in 2016 for one year (10-1-2015). All sponsors return in 2015 and crew chief Chad Johnston, who just started as the #14 crew chief in 2014, will return in 2015 (5-24-2014). | ||||||

| Bowyer will drive for HScott Motorsports in 2016, then take over the #14 Chevy at Stewart-Haas Racing when Tony Stewart retires after the 2016 season (10-1-2015). Robert Kauffman said that MWR will cease operation and not run in 2016 (8-21-2015). Michael Waltrip Racing and Clint Bowyer have mutually agreed to separate at the conclusion of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. Bowyer will be free to pursue other career options in 2016 and beyond. Team co-owner Rob Kauffman said MWR will not field a full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup entry in 2016 (8-19-2015). Michael Waltrip Racing principal Owner Rob Kauffman bought into Chip Ganassi Racing. At first it was reported Kauffman would buy out co-owner Felix Sabates, but Sabates says he in not selling or ‘going anywhere’. Some reports have Kauffman dropping his affiliation with MWR. Kauffman said on August 2nd that “any idea that I’m leaving [MWR] or taking anything is actually misplaced. What we’re actually doing is integrating the businesses, trying to get the most competitive product on track,” and indicated there are many details still to be determined. Reports have #15-Clint Bowyer and some of MWR sponsors [5-Hour Energy, Aaron’s, Peak, AAA, Maxwell House] moving to Chip Ganassi Racing. Other reports have MWR merging into CGR and being a four-car team, all with Chevy. CGR principal Owner Chip Ganassi would continue to retain majority control (8-2-2015). Casey’s General Store / Hughes General Contractors sponsored Bowyer at Kentucky (7-9-2015). Crew Chief Brian Pattie moves to MWR’s #55 Toyota Camry driven by David Ragan. Billy Scott moves from the #55 to be the #15 Crew Chief for Bowyer starting at Michigan in June. Additional changes include a reorganization of lead, secondary and support engineers for each team. Car chiefs, road mechanics and pit crews will remain with their originally assigned teams(6-9-2015). Jack Link’s and Big Machine Records will sponsor Bowyer at Pocono in June (5-29-2015). Maxwell House Coffee will be the primary sponsor in four races: Pocono and Watkins Glen in August, Martinsville and Texas in November. Maxwell House will also sponsor Michael Waltrip at Talladega in October, no word if it’ll be in the #55 or a 3rd MWR car (4-10-2015). MWR announced extensions with Bowyer, Pattie and 5-Hour Energy, looks like it will be for three years thru 2017. 5-Hour Energy will be the primary sponsor for 24 races a season (5-5-2014). | SpongeBob SquarePants Patrick Star will be featured on the car at Kansas, along with Cheez-It (5-1-2015). Matt Puccia returns as the crew chief in 2015 (1-6-2015). Cheez-It will move to Biffle’s team for an unannounced number of races (10-22-2014). Ortho announced they will be a primary sponsor for about half the races (16-17) in 2015, some using the Ortho Fire Ant Killer featured on the #16 (8-29-2014). 3M will leave as the sponsor after the 2014 season and move to the #24 with Jeff Gordon. Juicy Juice will be the primary sponsor at Charlotte in October (6-2-2015). Nick Sandler takes over as crew chief in 2015. Former crew chief Mike Kelley will be the car chief in 2015 (1-6-2015). Zest will again serve as a primary for Stenhouse for multiple races in 2015, as well as a season-long associate. Indications are that Fifth Third Bank and NOS will return in some capacity (7-30-2014). Roush Fenway Racing announced that Fastenal will team with Ricky Stenhouse Jr., serving as the anchor sponsor on the #17 Ford for a multi-year agreement beginning in 2015 (7-27-2014). Nationwide Insurance will leave and go to the #88 Hendrick Motorsports team starting in 2015. No word if Zest, Fifth Bird Bank, or NOS return in 2015. | Busch came back and ran the All-Star race in May at Charlotte and will run the rest of the season. NASCAR granted Busch a waiver to make the Chase as long as he wins a race and scores enough points to be at least 30th in the drivers points standings after Richmond in Sept (5-13-2015). NASCAR indefinitely suspended Busch on 2/20/2015 after a Delaware Family Court Commissioner concluded that “it is more likely than not” that Busch committed an act of domestic abuse against ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll in Sept. Busch lost two appeals to NASCAR on Saturday to get back in the car. A NASCAR spokesperson said the sanctioning body would send guidelines to Busch on what he must do to be reinstated (2-22-2015). Busch will be back in the car in 2015, but could get suspended by NASCAR if he goes to trial for assault/domestic abuse and is convicted. The Dover Police Department finished its investigation into allegations against Busch, but declined to say whether investigators were recommending that he be charged and the report was not released. Busch’s ex-girlfriend, Patricia Driscoll, says Busch choked her and smashed her head into a wall three times inside his motorhome at Dover International Speedway in September. An arrest warrant was issued for #44 team owner John Cohen in mid March, no word what happened with that (3-14-2015). Nemechek did run one race in 2015, at Atlanta in the #34 Ford for Front Row Motorsports after Ragan left for the #18 ride (7-1-2015).
