Christopher Bell advances in NASCAR Cup Playoffs with dramatic win at Charlotte ROVAL: In a turn of events that bordered on the unbelievable, Christopher Bell found his only path to the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. On fresh tires, thanks to a strategic pit stop under caution on Lap 105, Bell passed Kevin Harvick to the outside through Turns 1 and 2 after a restart on Lap 111 and pulled away to win Sunday’s Bank of America ROVAL 400 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course. #20-Christopher Bell won the Bank of America ROVAL 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The win is his 2nd win of the year, 1st at Charlotte Motor Speedway and 3rd career win. Bell pitted late in the race under caution and was able to move back through the field to take the lead from Harvick with two laps remaining.
#4-Harvick finished 2nd followed by #18-Busch, #16-Allmendinger, #31-Haley, #17-Buescher, #45-Wallace, #8-Reddick, #14-Briscoe, and #3-Dillon.
Pole winner #22-Logano finished 18th.
Playoff drivers having problems:
Suarez lost power steering in the last stage and lost 5 laps during repairs.  He finishes in 36th
#1-Chastain made contact with the wall late in the race and bent a control arm.  He had to go behind the wall for repairs and finished 37th
#5-Larson had a toe link issue with 10 laps remaining and lost 5 laps, forcing a 35th place finish
#2-Cindric was in position to advance in the playoffs but spun on the final lap.
Advancing to the Round of 8: #1-Chastain, #9-Elliott, #11-Hamlin, #12-Blaney, #14-Briscoe, #20-Bell, #22-Logano, #24-Byron.
Eliminated from the Playoffs: #2-Cindric, #5-Larson, #48-Bowman, #99-Suarez.
Stage 1 was won by #22-Logano. Stage 2 was won by Chastain.
There were 10 lead changes among 8 drivers and 4 cautions for 10 yellow flag laps.  There was also a 6 minute red flag for track repair on lap 108.
