Kyle Larson holds off Tyler Reddick for second straight Las Vegas win: Based on the box score alone, you might think Kyle Larson dominated Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  You’d be wrong.  Yes, Larson led 181 of 267 laps at the 1.5-mile track. Kyle Busch led the second-most—18. #5-Kyle Larson won the Pennzoil 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The win is his 1st win of the year, 3rd at Las Vegas and 24th career win.
#45-Tyler Reddick finished 2nd followed #12-Ryan Blaney, #1-Ross Chastain, #54-Ty Gibbs, #10-Noah Gragson, #19-Martin Truex, Jr., #11-Denny Hamlin, pole winner #22-Joey Logano, and #24-William Byron.
Larson dominated much of the race, leading 181 of the 267 laps, but had to hold off multiple charges by Reddick through the last half of the race.
There was a 10 minute red flag early in the race for wall repair after #17-Chris Buescher got into the outside wall when a tire blew out.
#5-Kyle Larson won stage 1 & 2 as well.
There were 24 lead changes among 15 drivers and 6 cautions for 35 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 133.192mph.

Race Updates:
Checkered flag – Kyle Larson wins at Las Vegas.  Tyler Reddick finishes second.  Then Blaney, Chastain, Gibbs, Gragson, Truex, Hamlin, Logano, and Byron.
Lap 267 – White flag for Larson. Reddick fell a half second back.
Lap 266 – Reddick now .15 second back of Larson.
Lap 265 – 3 to go. Reddick .25 second back.
Lap 263 – 5 laps left. Larson leads Reddick by .36 second. Third place Blaney has fallen to 3.8 seconds back.
Lap 258 – 10 laps to go. Larson’s lead is still a half second.
Lap 256 – Reddick has closed to a half second behind Larson.
Lap 253 – 15 to go. Larson’s lead over Reddick is still 1 second.
Lap 248  – 20 laps to go. Larson still leads. Reddick now 2nd, but 1 second back. Chastain back to third, then Blaney and Hamlin.

Lap 235 – Caution is out for a #7-Corey LaJoie spin with 33 laps remaining.
Lap 231 – Reddick is making a little progress cutting into Larson’s lead. He’s now 1.7 second back.  They will pit again before the end of the race.
Lap 223 – Pit stops are now complete and Kyle Larson is back in the lead.  He’s 2.6 seconds ahead of Tyler Reddick. Third place Blaney is 7.2 seconds back.
Lap 217 – Suarez pits from the lead.  #34-McDowell and #16-Derek Kraus yet to pit.

Lap 153 – Nearing the end of stage 2, Buescher is the only driver currently out of the race.  Zane Smith is 14 laps off the pace, in 36th, after getting into the wall early.
Lap 146 – 20 laps remaining in stage 2. Larson’s lead is now 3.8 seconds.  Then Busch, Hamlin, Blaney, Gibbs.
Lap 142 – Kyle Larson has now extended his lead to 3.5 seconds over current 2nd place Kyle Busch. Hamlin is now 3rd.
Lap 132 – Larson has a lead of 2 seconds over Hamlin. 3rd place Blaney is 2.5 seconds back.
Lap 122 – Pit stops cycle through quickly and Larson is back in the lead with Hamlin, Blaney, Busch, and Gibbs following.  #31-Hemric and #1-Chastain also too fast on pit road.

Lap 81 – Caution is out for the end of stage 1.  #5-Larson wins it.  He’s followed by #45-Reddick, #19-Truex, #8-Busch, #11-Hamlin, #54-Gibbs, #7-LaJoie, #1-Chastain, #2-Cindric, and #20-Bell. #24-Byron will get the free pass.
Lap 62 – Kyle Larson takes the lead from Kyle Busch.
Lap 61 – 20 laps remaining in stage 1. Busch continues to lead. Larson is 2nd, then Reddick, Truex, and Hamlin. After pitting under green, Byron is now in 35th, one lap down.
Lap 49 – #24-Byron has to pit because of debris covering the nose of the car.  He was starting to overheat.
Lap 44 – Busch takes the lead.
Lap 41 – Suarez continues to lead. Kyle Busch has moved up to 2nd.

Lap 27 – Caution is out. #17-Buescher hits the wall after blowing a tire.
Lap 18 – #24-Byron leads after restarting 7th.
Lap 17 – #14-Briscoe leads.
