Ty Gibbs Wins in 1st Xfinity Start: Ty Gibbs turned in a historic NASCAR Xfinity Series debut Saturday night, the 18-year-old won in his first series start – holding off reigning champion Austin Cindric on the Daytona International Speedway Road Course.
Gibbs took the lead on a restart in double overtime and held off the field by a comfortable 1.726-seconds at the finish line, dropping to his knees to reflect after climbing out of his No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota – a car owned by his grandfather, NASCAR Hall of Famer Joe Gibbs.(Read More)(2-20-21)

In his first career Xfinity Series start, #54-Ty Gibbs won at the Daytona International Speedway road course, becoming just the sixth driver in series history to win in their first start. In addition, he’s the third youngest driver in series history, behind just Joey Logano and Chase Elliott.
#22-Austin Cindric finished second, after being involved in an early incident with #16-AJ Allmendinger. #18-Daniel Hemirc, #19-Brandon Jones and #10-Jeb Burton rounded out the top five. #20-Harrison Burton, #8-Miguel Paludo, #68-Brandon Brown, #11-Justin Haley and #51-Jeremy Clements complete the top 10.
The opening stage was won by #22-Cindric, with #54-Gibbs winning the second stage.
There were seven cautions in the race for 14 laps. The average speed was 78.213 mph.

Ty Gibbs won the Super Start Batteries 188 at Daytona Presented by O’Reilly, his first victory in his NASCAR Xfinity Series career debut.
Ty Gibbs becomes the sixth driver to win in his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut, joining Dale Earnhardt (1982, Daytona), Joe Ruttman (1982, Dover), Ricky Rudd (1983, Dover), Terry Labonte (1985, Charlotte) and Kurt Busch (2006, Texas).
Austin Cindric (second) posted his second top-10 finish in two races at the DAYTONA Road COurse. It is his second top-10 finish in 2021.
Daniel Hemric (third) posted his first top-10 finish in two races at DAYTONA Road course.
Ty Gibbs (1st) was the highest finishing rookie.
Ty Gibbs becomes the youngest driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series to win a road course event at 18 years, 4 months, 16 days. Record was previously held by Austin Cindric (20 years old) at the 2019 Mid-Ohio race.

Cars to the rear: #18-Daniel Hemric will start at the rear of the field for failing pre-race inspection three times. The team will also lose its pit stall selection next week at Homestead.

#22-Austin Cindric, winner from the season opener, will start second. #10-Jeb Burton, #20-Harrison Burton and #18-Daniel Hemric round out the top five. In sixth is #16-AJ Allmendinger, followed by #68-Brandon Brown, #2-Myatt Snider, #07-Joe Graf Jr. and #5-Matt Mills.
The lineup was set by the qualifying metric, based on race finish, points position, and fastest race lap.
