Ty Gibbs Wins in 1st Xfinity Start: Ty Gibbs turned in a historic NASCAR Xfinity Series debut Saturday night, the 18-year-old won in his first series start – holding off reigning champion Austin Cindric on the Daytona International Speedway Road Course.

In his first career Xfinity Series start, #54-Ty Gibbs won at the Daytona International Speedway road course, becoming just the sixth driver in series history to win in their first start. In addition, he’s the third youngest driver in series history, behind just Joey Logano and Chase Elliott.
#22-Austin Cindric finished second, after being involved in an early incident with #16-AJ Allmendinger. #18-Daniel Hemirc, #19-Brandon Jones and #10-Jeb Burton rounded out the top five. #20-Harrison Burton, #8-Miguel Paludo, #68-Brandon Brown, #11-Justin Haley and #51-Jeremy Clements complete the top 10.
The opening stage was won by #22-Cindric, with #54-Gibbs winning the second stage.
There were seven cautions in the race for 14 laps. The average speed was 78.213 mph.

Ty Gibbs becomes the youngest driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series to win a road course event at 18 years, 4 months, 16 days. Record was previously held by Austin Cindric (20 years old) at the 2019 Mid-Ohio race.
