Daniel Hemric Makes Last Lap Pass at Phoenix to Snag 1st NASCAR Win & Championship: Daniel Hemric picked the perfect time to win his first NASCAR national series race—and a title came with it. Executing an aggressive bump-and-run in Saturday night’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race, Hemric passed Austin Cindric in the final two corners at Phoenix Raceway. (Read more)(11-6-2021)

Executing a bump and run on the final corner of the last lap, #18-Daniel Hemric earned his first career Xfinity Series victory, while passing #22-Austin Cindric for the lead. It’s Hemric’s first NASCAR victory in 208 career starts (38 Cup Series, 120 Xfinity Series, 50 Truck Series).
Cindric finished second, missing out on his second consecutive championship, despite leading a race-high 113 laps. The other two Championship 4 drivers, #9-Noah Gragson and #16-AJ Allmendinger, experience late-race woes, finishing 12th and 14th, respectively.
#20-Harrison Burton came from the rear of the field to finish third, while #98-Riley Herbst finished fourth and #11-Justin Haley rounded out the top five.
#54-John Hunter Nemechek took the checkered flag in sixth, with #19-Brandon Jones, #02-Brett Moffitt, #7-Justin Allgaier and #78-Sheldon Creed making up the rest of the top 10.
There were 16 lead changes among five drivers and 10 cautions for 61 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 85.845 mph.

Owner Roger Penske fielded the team’s first car in the series with NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace behind the wheel at Auto Club Speedway on October 19, 1997.

Pit Stall Selections

Looking to win his second consecutive driver, #22-Austin Cindric will start from the pole in Saturday evening’s Xfinity Series Championship race. Cindric turned a speed of 131.902 mph, awarding him the pole position.
#54-John Hunter Nemechek, who is battling for the owner’s championship, turned the second quickest lap (131.372 mph), with #7-Jusitn Allgaier (131.109 mph), #18-Daniel Hemric (131.066 mph) and #98-Riley Herbst (130.966 mph) rounding out the top five.
#19-Brandon Jones will start from sixth, with Championship 4 driver #9-Noah Gragson lining up seventh. #11-Justin Haley, #10-Jeb Burton and #78-Sheldon Creed make up the rest of the top 10. The only Championship 4 driver starting outside the top 10 is #16-AJ Allmendinger in 12th.
