22-Austin Cindric won the season opening Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday evening, edging out #02-Brett Moffitt. The win is Cindric’s ninth of his career, and second straight dating back to the end of 2020.
Cindric restarted as the leader on a green-white-checkered finish, and with a shove from #16-AJ Allmendinger, cleared #20-Harrison Burton. Cindric hung on to the lead, blocking both Burton and Moffitt over the final two laps.
Burton finished third, with #10-Jeb Burton and Allmendinger rounding out the top five. #68-Brandon Brown, #2-Myatt Snider, #26-Brandon Gdovic, #18-Daniel Hemric and #23-Jason White filled the top 10.
The first stage was won by #19-Brandon Jones, but he was later involved in an accident. Moffitt ended up winning the second stage, the first of his career.
There were 16 lead changes among 11 drivers and nine cautions.

Qualifying for the Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner 300 at Daytona International Speedway has been canceled due to rain. Per the rulebook, NASCAR has set the field based on last year’s owner points, with #22-Austin Cindric and #7-Justin Allgaier sitting on the front row.
#11-Justin Haley will lineup third, with #98-Riley Herbst fourth and #9-Noah Gragson will round out the top five.
Because qualifying was rained out, just five drivers go home. Two-time Xfinity champion #03-Tyler Reddick, #25-Chris Cockrum, #31-Jordan Anderson, #77 Ronnie Bassett Jr. and #91-Mario Gosselin are the drivers that won’t make the field.
