Austin Hill wins for the second year in a row at Daytona: After Sam Mayer spun on the roof of his Chevrolet on the backstretch at Daytona International Speedway, trailing a shower of sparks, Austin Hill, Justin Allgaier and John Hunter Nemechek sat in their cars and waited.And after what must have seemed an eternity to the drivers, NASCAR reviewed video of the final lap of overtime and declared Hill the winner of his second straight season opener at the World Center of Racing in front of the largest crowd to witness an Xfinity Series race at Daytona since the $400-million renovation of the facility in 2016.(Read more)

It took a few minutes to review, but #21-Austin Hill picked up his second consecutive win in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. NASCAR declared Hill the winner, edging out #20-John Hunter Nemechek and #7-Justin Allgaier, after #1-Sam Mayer spun on the backstretch and eventually flipped.
#20-Nemechek was awarded second with #7-Allgaier in third. #31-Parker Retzlaff placed fourth and #19-Myatt Snided rounded out the top five.
#98-Riley Herbst finished sixth, with #39-Joe Graf Jr., #38-Ryan Sieg, #00-Cole Custer and #10-Justin Haley making up the top 10.
#21-Hill hill led the most laps at 39 and won the opening stage. #7-Allgaier picked up a playoff point for winning Stage 2.
There were 25 lead changes among 11 drivers and eight cautions for 32 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was 132.524 mph.
