#1-Sam Mayer won the Xfinity Series’ return to Iowa Speedway, claiming the Hy-Vee Perks 250. This is Mayer’s second win of the season and his sixth in the last 29 Xfinity Series races, dating back to Road America last summer.
#98-Riley Herbst tied his best finish of the season in second and was passed in the final 10 laps for the lead by Mayer. #26-Corey Heim tied the best finish of his career (Richmond 2024), with #8-Sammy Smith and #18-Sheldon Creed rounding out the top five.
#00-Cole Custer, #38-Matt DiBenedetto, #81-Chandler Smith, #92-Ross Chastain and #10-Daniel Dye filled out the top 10.
There were six incidents involving tires failing entering the corner that took out big names like: #16-AJ Allmendinger, #27-Jeb Burton, #2-Jesse Love, #7-Justin Allgaier, #21-Austin Hill and #20-John Hunter Nemechek.
#81-Smith won both stages and led a race-high 131 laps but faded over the final 100 laps and finished eighth.
There were 13 lead changes among eight drivers and nine cautions for 71 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 84.899 mph.
