Some Geoff Bodine News: From what I am told Bob Glidden is still involved in the motor program but more on the truck side. Pro Motors will be used for the rest of the year. Although Pro Motors did not supply the qualifying motor at Pocono and may not for Indy and/or Watkins Glen. They are getting the race motors right first to see what Geoff Bodine likes then they will start supplying the qualifying motors. Geoff’s team did the qualifying motor at Pocono. I also hear the ownership announcement should be made Thursday July 31, 1997 at Indy. Also to let you know it’s not just one businessman but two businessmen have made the deal with Bodine. That IT IS a done deal. If it hadn’t been they would not have been to NH or Pocono. In this deal Geoff does remain a partner in the team. And they are working on different sponsorship for next year and additional sponsorship for the remainder of this year. This will also allow Berry Bodine(Geoff’s son) to run some more Truck races this year and hope to have him run the full schedule next year. And Tammy Jo Kirk’s future with the team is up in the air right now, they are waiting on getting a sponsorship deal put together for next season(7-21-97)
