The Dale Earnhardt Inc team is looking for a driver to sub for Steve Park who will miss at least four months. Ron Hornaday tested in the #1 Chevrolet for two days this week at Darlington, then Mike Wallace drove it on the final day. Both Hornaday and Wallace have rides in the NASCAR Truck series, so either would only be used for the next two Winston Cup races, at Darlington and Bristol. It’s possible, however, that the team will have a long-term substitute ready to go by next Sunday’s TranSouth 400 at Darlington. Ty Norris the team’s general manger would not elaborate on whom the team might be considering. Rich Bickle’s name has been mentioned most often in speculation surrounding the ride.(ThatsRacin), I also hear Morgan Shepherd is being considered and another Cup driver who is in a full time ride(3-15-98)
