Car owner Ricky Benton has hired Stacy Puryear to maintain and drive his cars in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series and two races in the BGN at South Boston and Myrtle Beach along with some Late Model Stock races. As a result, Puryear has moved to Cerro Gorda, NC, which is approximately 15 miles from Lumberton, NC and will no longer operate from his shop in South Boston. Puryear will be selling his car and all of his equipment. Benton has a new Busch Series car that has never been on the racetrack, Puryear said and he and the team will work on it to prepare it for the South Boston and Myrtle Beach races. Benton’s driver last season was Greg Marlowe. The team won three major Late Model Stock car races but failed in the attempt to make the field for the BGN races at South Boston Speedway, Indianapolis Speedway and Myrtle Beach, SC Speedway(Stacy Puryear Site)(1-25-2000)
