Darrell Waltrip, winner of 84 career NASCAR Winston Cup Series races, and veteran, personable crew chief Larry McReynolds, have been named race analysts for the premiere season of NASCAR on FOX(in 2001 at Daytona). Waltrip and McReynolds form two-thirds of the NASCAR on FOX race broadcast team. Waltrip and McReynolds also serve as analysts for next season’s NASCAR coverage on FX and FOX Sports Net. A NASCAR on FOX play-by-play announcer will announced at a later date, as will multiple pit reporters and an on-site pre-race show team. On Nov. 11, 1999, NASCAR announced that it had reached an eight-year agreement with FOX and FX to carry Winston Cup and Busch Series races. FOX Sports begins its telecast schedule SpeedWeek 2001 from Daytona, which culminates with live flag-to-flag coverage of the 42nd Daytona 500.
