After driver introductions before the race today, Darrell Waltrip took a lap around the 2.66 mile track at Talladega in the restored #95 Mercury he drove at Talladega in 1972 in celebration of his Victory Tour and in recognition of his first Winston Cup start at Talladega(TSS Site), also the same car won the 1967 Daytona 500 with Mario Andretti driving it when it was a Ford Fairlane, then re-skinned to became a Mercury. Waltrip owns the car(10-15-2000)
