Sadler tests at Kentucky and…

The #21 Wood Brothers Motorcraft Race Team ended the two-day test Wednesday at the Kentucky Speedway. Driver Elliott Sadler’s best speed was 182.400mph on the new 1.5-mile tri-oval track. Sadler was joined by the third generation of the Wood family, Jon Wood, on the track who ran a lap of 180.000mph. It was the first opportunity that new crew chief Pat Tryson and Sadler had to work together. The Wood Brothers are looking for a sponsor for Jon Wood next year in either a limited NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series or Winston West schedule. The team carried an extra car along to give Wood a little seat time in a Cup car. The car he tested was the vehicle that Elliott Sadler drove to a 16th place finish at the Pocono 500 this past June. This was Jon’s first time in a Cup car on track larger than 3/4 of a mile(Wood Brothers PR)(12-7-2000)
