BGN Series director John Darby says that teams will receive a bulletin this week addressing a minor change for the rest of the season. The bulletin will detail spring parameters and bump stops. Each front wheel has its own spring coil suspension. A lot of teams have found that using a very soft spring allows the car’s front end to go lower to the ground and have less air resistance. Less air resistance means faster times. The bump stops halts the spring from dipping so low that the bottom of the car hits the track. Darby says the rule will be for the BGN series only at this time(Roanoke Times)(5-6-2001)
