UPDATE: hearing Ed Guzzo, VP and General Manager at Evernham Motorsports has left the team(5-17-2001) UPDATE: Eddie d’Hondt, team manager of Evernham’s #9, was released Tuesday, and vp/general manager Ed Guzzo stood down from his position Thursday. Guzzo, a close associate of Evernham’s since his days with Jeff Gordon’s #24 team, remains with the organization for the time being, Evernham said. Evernham would not be specific about the circumstances around d’Hondt and Guzzo. “I had some hard decisions I had to make this week,” he said. “Ed Guzzo, that was just a mutual decision on both of our parts.
