Gordon Wants Changes: Jeff Gordon has been quietly lobbying NASCAR to change the rules package currently used in events at Daytona and Talladega. Gordon spent much of Tuesday at the Speedway to shoot a commercial, hold a press conference and participate in a fan forum at Daytona USA. Gordon said the aerodynamic package used in Winston Cup restrictor-plate races needs to be adjusted between NASCAR’s two largest tri-oval tracks. The basic rule package was initiated at Talladega’s October race last year and used this season at Daytona and its sister track in Alabama. The next restrictor-plate race is the July 7 Pepsi 400 at Daytona(Daytona Beach News Journal)(6-6-2001)
