Rusty’s Son to Race UPDATE: Greg Wallace, 21-year-old son of Rusty and Patti Wallace, will get his shot at racing in the late model ranks. He will be teamed up with legendary competitor Jack Ingram, who’ll head the program for the Wallaces, Greg will go to Greenville-Pickens(SC) the first time out next Saturday (June 9).(TRPR.com)(6-4-2001) UPDATE: Greg Wallace becomes the second late model driver to run a car built and maintained out of the Jack Ingram Racing stables. The 2001 season marks the third consecutive year that 19-year old Michael Chaney out of Abingdon, VA is competing at Kingsport Speedway. Ingram, who won 29 of his 31 career victories on short tracks, serves as Chaney’s spotter and crew chief at each race. The pair have combined for several pole positions including a track record and tied a career-best 2nd place finish at Chaney’s final race of the 2000 season. They also have competed at New River Valley Speedway in Radford, VA and at Martinsville Speedway. Plans for 2001 include running weekly at Kingsport Speedway and selectively at New River Valley Speedway through out the summer(6-7-2001)
