Fox and SpeedVision: FOX Sports chairman and CEO David Hill confirmed Saturday that his network is closing a deal to purchase Speedvision, a 24-hour auto racing network that is currently seen in about 27 million homes. “The ink is still not dry,” Hill said. “We expect to complete the acquisition of Speedvision by mid-July or early August.” Once the sale is final, Hill said viewers can expect to see much more NASCAR content on the channel. “You’ll see NASCAR programming from the [FOX] network repeated on Speedvision,” Hill said. “[And] we’ll be making specific new NASCAR programming for it.”(CNN/SI)(6-24-2001)
