Teen Hurt at NASCAR School in Philadelphia: A 15-year old Wilmington, Delaware boy has been injured during a NASCAR racing school for urban youth in Fairmount Park. Curt Tori was taken to a local hospital after crashing his race car which is one-quarter the size of a regular NASCAR vehicle. Tori was racing his number 25 car when he swerved to avoid another racer on the makeshift course at Memorial Hall in Philadelphia. His car slammed into a Philadelphia police cruiser. The officer was not hurt, Tori was taken off the course on a stretcher. Witnesses say he was alert and talking. The race has been cancelled. (KYW News), some notes: the race was cancelled due to rain, not the accident. And Dale Earnhardt Jr was there at the event; plus see a story at the Philadelphia Daily News(7-27-2001) (7-26-2001)
