CART changes race name UPDATE Sad News Zanardi Injured badly: The first CART race in Europe was renamed “The American Memorial” in tribute to victims of terrorist attacks in the United States. ESPN announced that it would not carry Saturday’s American Memorial race from the German Lausitzring live, instead opting to show it Monday afternoon on a tape-delayed basis. UPDATE – Zanardi Hurt: Two-time CART champion Alex Zanardi lost both of his legs after his car was hit by another traveling about 200 mph Saturday during the American Memorial 500.
