Not NASCAR but great news: The comeback of Alex Zanardi has begun, far faster than it might have for many an ordinary human, as Zanardi drove himself from his Monte Carlo home to the Italian office of Dr. Claudio Costa in a specially modified road car. Zanardi, who lost both of his lower legs in a terrible crash at the German Lausitzring six weeks ago, drove a car that was fitted with hand controls to meet the renowned Dr. Costa as the Italian surgeon performed a routine checkup on the two-time CART champions injuries.(SpeedVision)(11-8-2001)
