Wind Tunnel Time? How important is aerodynamic development of Winston Cup cars to the big auto manufacturers? We have been told that one of the “Big Three” has assigned sufficient importance to it’s Winston Cup wind tunnel program that product managers seeking tunnel time for street car development are finding Winston Cup teams penciled into time slots traditionally reserved for production vehicles. In the past, Winston Cup teams generally had to wheel their cars into the wind tunnels at night, after the production cars left.
